Exclude Seed Amount from Ledger

Release Date: December 12, 2024
Short Description: Previously, the "Seed Amount" added to a campaign appeared in financial reports, which caused confusion. Now, this amount will no longer be included in the Transaction Ledger or Subledger since it does not represent actual funds moving in or out.

How This Affects You:

  • Only actual donations and transactions will be recorded.

Screenshot: View Here

Add Setting to Credit Peer-To-Peer Participant/Team

Release Date: January 16, 2025
Short Description:  There are some organizers who never want a donation to not be credited toward a participant. Therefore, we have added this setting that allows organizers to control if the supporter user can optionally credit a participant.

How This Affects You:

  • A new option is available whether a participant is required to be credited in the Peer-to-Peer section of Experience Setup:

    • How This Affects You: Organizers can now control if supporters must credit a participant during checkout. If enabled, supporters will be required to credit a participant to submit their donation. By default, this setting is disabled.
  • A new option to make crediting either a participant and/or team required:

    • How This Affects You: When participants and/or teams are enabled, supporters must credit either a participant or a team during checkout. Validation will ensure that at least one participant or team is credited before submission.

Release Date: January 9, 2025

Peer to Peer Button Warning, Release Date: December 5th, 2024

The team noticed a couple of issues with the Peer-to-Peer (P2P) option in campaign setup.

  1. No Warning for P2P Data Loss: When users uncheck a fundraising activity type that has data, they get a warning that their work will be erased. However, this warning doesn’t appear for Peer-to-Peer. This means users might accidentally lose all their P2P progress without realizing it.
  2. Conflict Between P2P and Auction: If someone selects Peer-to-Peer and then chooses Auction, Peer-to-Peer gets unselected automatically. Again, there’s no warning, so users could lose their P2P work here too.

The application has now been updated to add warnings in both situations to help users avoid losing their work by mistake.

See examples here and here.

Move Donation Pages Access Point from Left Menu to Settings, Release Date: November 28th, 2024

To better improve the user interface, we’ve updated the Donation Page access point location:

  1. New Location: The donation page link is now under the Settings area (see screenshot here) beneath the "User Management" option.
  2. Display Update: The text now simply says "Donation Pages" to match the style of the other menu options.
  3. Icon Removed: The previous icon has been removed.

Move Peer-To-Peer Start Date Option, Release Date: November 28th, 2024

We’ve made an improvement to the Campaign Setup process:

  • The Peer-to-Peer start date option has been moved to the Peer-to-Peer step in Campaign Setup.
  • At the earlier setup step, it is unknown if the organization wants public registrations.  Moving the start date option to the Peer-to-Peer step is better user flow in the setup process.
  • The start date option now only appears if either team or participant registrations are set to be public.

See example screenshot.

"Update Tab Header Text for My Members", Release Date: November 12th, 2024

The application has been updated to rename the "My Members" tab to "My Participants" tab under My Account -> My Activity.

See example here.

"Hide Send Email Functionality When Emails Are Not Collected", Release Date: November 13th, 2024

If an email address isn't collected for a ticket (see screenshot), the "Send Email" option still appears on the View Ticket Registrations page (see screenshot).

Now, if an email address is not collected for a ticket, the "Send Email" option will no longer show up in the Actions menu on the View Ticket Registrations page.

Payment Processing Page Copy Improvements, Release Date: November 7th, 2024

We’ve made improvements to the payment processing page to provide clearer information about the fees involved with each payment processing option.

Updates:

  • Added a "Learn more" link next to each payment processing option on both the Payment Processing Page and Account Setup.
  • Clicking "Learn more" will open a modal with detailed information about the fees associated with each processor.

See final result here.

Participant Email Logic Enhancement, Release Date: November 7th, 2024

We’ve added logic to participant emails when a donor registers multiple participants using the same email address. Currently, emails sent to donors in this situation only include one fundraising page link and one section with next steps.

Updates:

  • We’ve removed the text prompting users to visit their personal fundraising page (view example).
  • We’ve also removed links to the participant dashboard and fundraising page (view example) as well as the link on "Customize your fundraising page."
  • A new table has been added to accommodate all registered participants (view example), with three columns:
    1. Participant Name
    2. View Dashboard (links to the participant’s respective dashboard)
    3. View Fundraising Page (links to the participant’s fundraising page)

These changes specifically apply to cases where a donor registers multiple participants using the same email address, which is common for school events where parents sign up their children.

Update Edit Experience Button Terminology, Release Date: November 7th, 2024

We’ve made a small but important update to the wording in the Experience Management CMO to reduce customer confusion.

Update:

  • The text in the Experience CMO has been changed from "Edit Experience" to "Experience Setup" for consistency.

Final Result: View the update here.

Improve Donation Page Branding Style for Banner Section, Release Date: October 31, 2024

We’ve updated the branding style for the donation page banner to enhance text readability. Previously, dark backgrounds caused text visibility issues.

Update Summary:

  • Until we implement page-specific branding, we've hardcoded text colors for the banner section.
    • On desktop: Banner text will always be white for better contrast.
    • On mobile/tablet: Banner text will always be black for clarity.
    • Final Result: Here’s how it looks with the updated design: View Result.

Improved Participant Email Logic, Release Date: October 30, 2024

We enhanced the participant email process when the person registering was the same as the one purchasing the registration. Previously, such users received two separate emails: one for the purchaser and another for the participant, which caused confusion.

Update:

  • If the purchaser and participant were the same person (determined by email), they now receive just one email instead of two.
  • The "Thank you for your registration!" email (sent to the purchaser) was updated to include the important information from the "Your registration is confirmed" email, consolidating everything into a single message.

See final result here.

Updated API Endpoints, Release Date: October 30, 2024

The team has added new fields to the donation exports for our API endpoints for the organization API.

The following data was added to the following locations:
  • listdonations rallyup endpoint
  • listdonations tray endpoint
  • listdonations information sent to tray.io webhook url
The data to be added should be:
  • A-thon amount
  • Auction amount
  • Crowdfunding amount
  • Ticketing amount
  • Raffle amount
  • Store amount
  • Sweepstakes amount
  • General Donation amount
  • A-thon fee
  • Auction fee
  • Crowdfunding fee
  • Ticketing fee
  • Raffle fee
  • Store fee
  • Sweepstakes fee
  • General Donation fee
  • Net Deductible Amount
If the campaign doesn't have these activities, we can just populate the values with null but still have them as keys.

Development Log Update: 10-24-2024

dev log

Update "Manage Administrators" Page / Modals For Custom Experience Terminology, Release Date: 10/10/24

This task aims to update the "Manage Administrators" page and related elements to better reflect customized terminology. The title will now display as "Manage [Experience] Administrators," where "Experience" is based on the partner's terminology settings.  Reference screenshot here.

The Campaign Management icon card will also be updated to match the new page title (see here).

Additionally, the "Add Administrators" pop-up will be updated to match this change (reference screenshot here). A new link will be added in the modal that directs users to the Organization-level admin page for managing organization-wide administrators.  Watch the demo here.

Updates To Google Analytics Events, Release Date: 10/23/24

The application now sends specific Google Analytics (GA) events to organizations that have Google Analytics enabled in their integrations. The events that will be sent include:

  • view_item: When an item is viewed.
  • add_to_cart: When an item is added to the cart.
  • begin_checkout: When the checkout process begins.
  • purchase: When a purchase is completed.

These events will be triggered with the same conditions including details like currency, values, and items. However, instead of using the DataLayer method, these events will be sent using the Google gtag API per the following Google documentation specified here.   Additionally, we removed the implementation of the "source" parameter when sending the event. Instead, the application will use the campaign URL for the page_location parameter, and the title of the page for the page_title parameter.

Add Partner-Level Terminology For "Experience", Release Date: 10/23/24

RallyUp's partners now have the ability to customize the terminology for "Experience" or "Experiences" throughout the app. By default, the term "Experience" will still be used, but partners can change it at their discretion. For example, if a partner prefers the term "Campaign" instead of "Experience," they can set that as the default for their partner.

The new terminology will appear in various places, such as the side navigation menu, the My Experiences page, donor profiles, and modals, but only for users outside of system or partner admin roles. This change was prompted because "Experience" hasn't gained the popularity the marketing team hoped for, so "Campaign" will likely be used more frequently.

The new terminology setting will be managed through the partner setup, allowing flexibility for different partner preferences.

Development Log Update: 10-3-2024

Updated wording in the "Manage administrators" page in Campaign Management

Two main changes were made to the "Manage administrators" page in Campaign Management to improve user experience. The main goal here is to help users understand that when adding administrators through this page, they add Campaign administrators, not organization administrators.

  1. The title of "Manage Administrators" is now "Manage Campaign Administrators"
  2. The "Add administrators" modal was also updated to provide a cohesive experience when adding new campaign administrators. The title was updated to say: "Add Campaign Administrators," and we added a new string with link text pointing the user to the "Users" page if they want to add an organization administrator instead.

See a demo video here: https://share.zight.com/NQu9xm8O

New Google Analytics events for Organizations

When an organization has Google Analytics enabled and set on their Integrations page, RallyUp will send the following events to Google Analytics:

  • view_item - triggered when an item's details are viewed
  • add_to_cart - triggered when an item is added to the cart
  • begin_checkout - triggered when checkout is started
  • purchase - triggered when a successful purchase is made

For these new events to work, organizations must update their Google Analytics integration settings here with a Measurement Protocol API secret. To create a new secret, organizations must visit their Google Analytics dashboard and navigate to Admin > Data Streams > choose your stream > Measurement Protocol > Create.

Update Title of "Enter Physical Entries" Page, Release Date: 9/26/2024

We updated the "Enter Physical Entries" management page's title and description for raffles and sweepstakes. It was renamed to "Manage outside [Raffle/Sweepstakes] entries," and we used the terminology for Raffles/Sweepstakes based on Experience Setup settings. To clarify, only "Raffle" displayed if it was a raffle, and "Sweepstakes" if it was a sweepstakes.

Additionally, we updated the description of the page to: "Add entries that were sold offline to enter them into the drawing."

See demo: Raffles / Sweeps

Buy-It-Now Reporting Improvements, Release Date: 9/26/2024

In this task, we improved the reporting for Buy-It-Now (BIN) items. Previously, the Auction Winners export/table did not clearly show the quantity of BIN items purchased in a single transaction. For reference, you can see this screenshot.

What was updated:

  • A "Quantity" column was added to the Auction Winners view.
  • When a user purchased a BIN item in a quantity greater than one, there was no easy way to identify this without viewing their receipt. Now, the new "Quantity" column will appear if at least one winner purchased a BIN item in a quantity greater than one. It will display the exact number of items bought for that specific BIN item.

Donation Pages Update

Hi Partners,

We're excited to share that our donation page functionality, which launched in 2022, has been a huge success! We're now gearing up to upgrade all partner donation pages to this new version by October 3rd, 2024.

Here’s a quick refresher on the new features in the latest version of Donation Pages.

If you have any questions, let us know at partners@rallyup.com.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In this release, we have completely rethought and redesigned the RallyUp Donation Page to serve Organizations' modern fundraising needs better. It has been several years since any updates were made to our old Donation Pages, and we needed to redesign them to keep them competitive.

We have organized the Donation Page into manageable and understandable steps so donors can effortlessly make donations. On the setup side, Organizers can easily create beautiful and powerful fundraising Donation Pages with minimal effort. Donation Pages will be a staple in many Organizations' fundraising arsenal.

New Features

Our entire philosophy when redesigning the Donation Page was to provide donors with a clean and easy-to-use interface while not sacrificing any flexibility and functionality for Organizations. In addition to a clean and easy-to-follow user interface, we've added new features to help Organizations raise more funds. New features were added based on a mix of customer feedback on the old Donation Pages as well as competitive research.

Rich Donation Presets

Presets have been redesigned to allow adding a Title, Image, and Description to each one. These Rich Presets will allow Organizers to showcase the impact that each of their preset amounts will have on their mission which will help encourage their donors to give more and support more since the Organizations impact is clearly communicated.

Title, Image, and Description are individual options that can be enabled for Presets. If the organizer still wants a simple Preset button, they can still do that too by just disabling those features.

Monthly Donation Upsell

Recurring Donors are a sought-after source of donation revenue for organizations. To help Organizations raise more funds and convert more multi-donation donors, we have added a new Recurring Donation Upsell feature to Donation Pages. When this feature is enabled, if a donor makes a one-time donation they will be asked if they want to convert it to a recurring donation instead. This maximizes the donation by taking a percentage of the one-time donation and offering it as a recurring donation, as shown in the upsell. Organizers can customize the content (Title and Description) on the Upsell step to make an organization or mission-specific appeal to donors.

Ability to Turn Donation Pages On/Off at Will

To further add more flexibility to Donation Page users, we allow them to turn their donation page off anytime. Then, when they're ready to begin accepting donations again, they can just as quickly turn it back on.

All other features of the previous Donation Pages remain as-is. Here is a complete list of Donation Page features:

  • Full customization & branding
  • Rich Donation Presets
  • One-time and recurring donations
  • Recurring donations upsell
  • Funds
  • Donation dedication
  • Collect donor information
  • Custom fields
  • Customize donation receipts

  • UK Gift Aid Support
  • Donation notification emails
  • Contact organizer email option
  • Credit Card Descriptor Statement Customization

Donation Page Setup

We've also redesigned Donation Page Setup to follow a structured flow from beginning to end. There are three main sections of Donation Page setup:

  • Basics
  • Checkout
  • Options

Basics Section

The basics section of Donation Page setup includes the following settings:
